US West Coast!!

Welcome fellow US West Coast SimCity BuildIt members!! I dont know how many of you are actually from the west coast, but I just moved to Seattle about a year and a half ago and it was a total coincidence to get into the club. I remember the very early days when it was me and Arvada and…. Simadelphia (I believe?) When we would go weeks without talking and very little activity at all… ah… those were the days! (jk, JK!!)

Anyway, feel free to introduce yourself in the comments below! You can call me Preston, pleasure to meet you all!

Marmster had asked for some tips on war. I’m not sure if he’s still playing as he pops in and out quite a bit, but below is the way that I look at war. Feel free to comment and add your own tips! Most of these are 100% dependent on how much time you have so I’ve divided into two sections:

If you have A LOT of time:

  1. Make sure you have AT LEAST $200,000 coins. Ideally, you’ll want about $300,000 and the more the merrier. The most valuable items in the game (building time vs price) are bags of flour. So constantly produce textiles and seeds. Ironically, these are also among the rarest items on the market. I use a few 12x tokens when my factories are ripe with textiles and seeds to crank out a lot. In 24 hours I get about $150,000 coins using this method and sending overflow into making donuts.
  2. I take the war preparation phase very seriously. I’ll watch Netflix and keep SimCity open. I focus MOSTLY on the items that I need to launch my most powerful attacks. I will generally “x” out any items that have nothing to do with my most powerful attacks. At the moment, I don’t care about ammo or duckies.
  3. Of course, once you see items that you want appearing at the bottom of the shipment, start making them or searching for 3 of them in the market. You should all know by know that the MOST number of any production item you need to have a in a shipment for war item is 3. So you will need 1, 2, or 3 of an item, so I always make/shop for 3.
  4. If a war item I’m not interested in pops up AND I already have all the material I need to get it, I will get the war item ONLY IF:
    1. The materials required are not rare (i.e. if it need bread rolls, I skip it)
    2. The materials showing up, I DO NOT need for future shipments that I see coming.
  5. During the attack phase, you should try to attach INACTIVE players. DO NOT ATTACK ACTIVE PLAYERS. Sometimes you have no choice, and sometimes it’s a guessing game.
  6. Once attack phase starts, I empty my attack bar as soon as I can. Usually this consists of launching my strongest attack along with a much weaker one. I will not use my energy booster yet.
  7. At this point, I’m a little more frivolous with what items I’m collecting during war deliveries because teammates can use things you have collected.

Strategy changes if you DO NOT have a lot of time:

  1. During preparation phase, do not look for items on the market as much. Only look on the market if you need common items like couches, burgers, fries, sugar, etc.
  2. Instead, look at the 6 clues you will have the next three shipments and start building the raw materials to make only 3 of everything (including pain in the ass things like lawnmowers, it’ll come in handy later.)
  3. During the attach phase, DO NOT attack immediately. Because you don’t have a lot of time, it’s best to sit back and hope they attack you. And if they do, when you rebuilt and gain items, you’ll be that much stronger after only investing a short amount of time doing the extremely easy repairs.

That’s it for now!! Looking forward to talking with you all!
